Passage from Socket 478 to LGA 775 was one of Intel most unhealthy platform. Besides the processors , it was necessary to change video card and memory . In this case, there were solutions for step by step update. For example, Asus company released the motherboard P5P800 on base of old chipset i865PE with new processor socket LGA 775. It allows to place in one system LGA 775 processor, using DDR-400 memory and AGP 8x video cards .
Proposals for those, who would want to exploit socket 478 processor in system with PCI express x16 support and DDR-2 was even fewer . This week appeared the adaptor GETA-478TO775. This adapter allows to install processor with socket 478 in LGA 775 motherboard.

The producer did not report about the supported bus frequencies 400, 533, 800 and 1066 MHz. However, here chipset i865x, i915x, i945x was mentioned.
