The third quarter already began, and this means that to the announcement of four core processor lynnfield LGA 1156 remained several weeks. Associates reported details about this announcement more clearly.
The announcement periods of lynnfield are now planned in several days - this event will start for the period from 8 to 11 September, 2009. With lynnfield processors will be simultaneously presented the chipset Intel p55. It will consist of microcircuit only, which fulfills the functions of south bridge. Two models lynnfield will relate to the core i7 series due to the support of hyper-Threading technology. Low-end model with 2.66 GHz frequency will be deprived from the support of this technology, and therefore, it will obtain the designation series core i5. This processor will be also deprived from support to TXT technology. All three processors will support dual-channel memory DDR 3-1333, equipped with 8 mb cache in the third level, but TDP value will not exceed 95 W.
The announcement of mobile four core processor clarksfield is also planned for the current block, but in later period: from 28 September through 23 October : will be presented three models clarksfield processors and the mobile chipset Intel PM55. All processors in this series will obtain the design concept socket G1 and support to the hyper-Threading technology and also the ability to work with dual-channel memory DDR 3-1333. Two elder models will have 8 mb cache in the third level, for low-end model the volume will be reduced to 6 mb. Clock frequencies will be 1.6 GHz, 1.73 GHz and 2.0 GHz respectively. Moreover, in the regime turbo boost one of the cores will be able to be overclocked to the frequencies 2.8 GHz, 3.06 GHz and 3.2 GHz. Two low-end processors will be limited to TDP level not more than 45 W and designation form core i 7 xxx, and elder will obtain TDP not more than 55 W and the designation form core i 7 xxx extreme edition.
