VIA Corporation, noted for its economical solutions, presented the new platform EPIA-P720. The chipset for this platform is VIA VX855, intended to ensure the comfortable HD video playback . Officially, it supports hardware acceleration for h.264, VC1, WMV9 and MPEG 2/4 with 1080p video . The motherboard is made in the standard pico-ITX, whose dimensions are 100 X 72 mm. In this case, the central processor VIA eden ULV, works at the frequency 1 GHz, it does not require active cooling and does not impose increased power requirements.
The integrated graphic core VIA chrome9 HCM ensures hardware support for directX 9.0. The Onboard codec VIA vinyl HD support six-channel sound, DTS, and also the interfaces S/PDIF and usual audio outputs. For hard disks the motherboard includes one IDE and SATA.
