First of all it is necessary to note the global tendencies traced from AMD documents. As it not annoyingly, but, really, plans of the company up to the end of the third quarter 2007 do not provide introduction to desktop processors based on K8L microarchitecture. As to 65 nanometers core Brisbane which can be characterized as analogue of the modern core Windsor which has been released with more modern technological process the first CPU on their basis will appear in the market only in the first quarter 2007.
Plans of the amd company obviously show the fact, that 90 nanometers applied now technology still has not settled all potential. During the remained part of 2006 and first three quarters 2007 the company will please the admirers with release of several new processors 90 nanometers both with the increased frequencies, and with lowered power requirement.
AMD planned,The first nearest announcement to occur in the third quarter. During this period the company will release processor Athlon 64 X2 5200 +, 2.6 GHz working frequency and with second level cache of 2mb ( 1 Mb on each core). In the fourth quarter will be presented the dual core processor FX-64 with frequency of 3 GHz. After, in the first quarter of next year, the company will release also two CPU Athlon 64 X2, 2.8 GHz working frequency and differing as usual, by the size of the second level cache. These CPU will receive ratings 5400 + and 5600 +. It is important to notice, that all these models of processors will use 90 nanometers core Windsor which frequency potential to second half of 2007 will be increased up to 3.2 GHz that will allow to release during this period Athlon 64 FX-66 processor.
It is important, that acceleration of core Windsor will not be integrated to increase in a thermal emission of processors. On the contrary, occurrence of competing products Intel Core 2 Duo forces AMD to decrease the thermal and electric characteristics of their own products. For this reason in the near future economic processors with a typical thermal emission 65 w will lose the exclusive status and begin to act in a role of the most usual offers for desktop computers. Thus in the long term AMD plans to enter a thermal emission in 65 w a boundary for all dual core processors,
Unfortunately, models of processors Athlon 64 X2 5400 + and 5600 + will not get the TDP = 65 w, their typical thermal emission again will return to habitual size in 89 w. Thermal emission of Athlon 64 FX will not change in general: their TDP level is 125 w and will not move in any side.
here is the summary
