the statistics of the extreme overclocking
of Conroe processors did not update to much , although the previously new records appeared almost each day.
the frequency potential of the stepping B1 core
already reached the limit, result from stepping B2 are somehow wrost. Until now the overclocking record of
Conroe in the frequency was considered
to 5.266 GHz, which ensured the 10 seconds in
Super PI/mod 1.5 xs.
The number of "pi" with an accuracy to 1 mln. signs after comma
was calculated in 9.828 seconds.
Last week coolaler has improved this result without
additional overclocking to- 9.719 seconds.
today using the same processor
on the modified motherboard Intel D975XBX revision 302 the system was clocked to 5.305 GHz with the use of liquid nitrogen and vcore of 1.65 v.
motherboard allowed to change
the multiplier of processor Core 2 extreme X6800 within the limits
from 6x to 40x, the author of experiment limited to value of 12x. the
fsb frequency was at 442 MHz, and such high value was reached after the
installation of an alternative chipset cooling from
Thermaltake:
the result from Super PI/mod of 1.5
xs was 9.640 seconds.
To us it remains waited for, when more successful motherboards and processors Core
2 Extreme X6800 stepping B2 will be availble. we hope that then the overclocking results will be improved.
