From the second attempt OCZ technology company presented in the past month accumulators SSD with PCI express x8 interface, which was divided on Z -Drive series p84 and e84. The first used MLC memory  , the second - SLC memory  . On reading operations SSD series p84 ensured the data transmission speed of 750 MB/s, on writing operations  - 650 MB/s. The more expensive series e84 could ensure the transmission speed of   800 MB/s and 700 MB/s on reading/writing operations , respectively. On this week OCZ technology presented the new series Z -Drive : OCZ Z -Drive m84. This SSD is on base of MLC  memory and equipped with PCI express x8 interface and with buffer with 256 MB volume. The data transmission speed on reading operations  reaches 870 MB/s, on writing operations 780 mb./s. The kept balance recording speed is equal to 600 MB/s. According to the producer intention  , the series Z -Drive m84 must combine high speed operation and attractive prices level  . The cost of Z -Drive m84 will be compared with the price of usual SSD, using serial ATA interface. The built-in RAID- controller allows this SSD to work in the regime RAID 0. Additional power is ensured by the four-pin molex. With the overall dimensions 195 X 32 X 127 mm, the SSD mass is equal to 500 gram. There are models with 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 Tb volume.
