Last week AMD spoke about the future processor architectures: Bulldozer, Fusion and Bobcat. Conditionally speaking, they will move for the market almost simultaneously, specializing in different price segments: Bulldozer will be prescribed in servers and expensive desktop processors, the processors llano with integrated video and core generation phenom II will be prescribed in the mass price segment of desktop and mobile sectors, and the mobility and compactness model will become systems on base of processors with bobcat architecture.
AMD does not plan to move processors with built-in video in the highly productive segment. AMD representatives acknowledged that after some time the fusion concept will be prescribed in all segments - from the small devices to supers-computer. AMD can speak about the integration at the system level , when for software central processor and graphic nucleus will become equal components.
The integration of graphic core, memory controller and central processor blocks on one silicon piece , in AMD opinion , allow to reduce the number of transactions on information transmission , increasing speed and reducing the energy consumption level. For the mobile systems, this is the prime advantage.
