Researchers, who work in Intel labs, demonstrated the experimental 48- core processor, which the company called : single-crystal cloud computer.
The appearance of this processor allows to reexamine many approaches, used in today's notebooks, desktop PC and servers.
The long-term objective to study the complete transformation of the interaction mechanism between man and computer due to the essential scaling of the computational resource. Next year company plans to engage the representatives of industry and academic structures, after extending among them 100 or more experimental processors.
Significant computational resource, as it is expected, will allow to forgo outlying devices as keyboard, joystick or remote control panel. Interaction in games and programs will occur more clearly and directly.
The Name single-crystal cloud computer reflects the structural similarity between the new processors and computer centers, utilized now for organizing cloud calculations with the access through Internet.

The difference between 48- core monster from the serially produced processors is not only the larger quantity of core, but also the presence of new high-speed internal network, which connects cores.
