According to iSuppli agency data, in the fourth quarter last year seagate was able to hold the first place on the market for hard disks - company controls 31% of segment. Western digital company has 30% of market. It is necessary to say that the sales dynamics in the past block was more iridescent for WD (+12%), whereas Seagate increased the quantity of sold HDD by 8%. The most dynamic development, however, on the fourth the rating position of  alliance Toshiba and Fujitsu,  demonstrated increase in size of 15%. The third place occupies Hitachi with 16% of market and by an increase of  3%. Samsung in the segment of hard disks controls only 9% of market, but its quarterly realization gain volume of  1% does not allow to speak about the explosion of business. In all in the fourth quarter 2009 were in the world dispatched 162,5 ml hard disks. According to the forecasts of iSuppli, in 2010 Seagate will preserve leader positions in the segment of hard disks, and Western digital will be satisfied by the second place.
