The appeared recently rumors about TSMC intentions to forego the use of 32 nm technical process with the production of video chip in favor of 28 nm technical process perturbed many potential video card owners. Associate reported that AMD will be forced in autumn this year to use 40 nm technical process with the elements of future video chip architecture. TSMC company will not use materials with high value of dielectric constant and transistors with the metallic lock (HKMG) with the production of semiconductor microcircuits on 32 nm technology. This places under question the expedience of video chip release concerning this version of technical process According to the statements of globalfoundries representatives, company decided to forego the mastery of HKMG within the 32 nm technical process; therefore, the potential production of video chip with the use of this technology will be expanded already on 28 nm standards. The production of prototypes on 28 nm technical process at globalfoundries will begin in the second-half this year. | ||
