Almost a year ago NEC company began the delivery of USB 3.0 controllers, integrated on the motherboard and expansion card. According to some data, now NEC control up to 90% of market for USB 3.0 controllers. In this year device with USB 3.0 support will reach 20 ml pieces, while in the following year this quantity will be doubled. ASMedia technology, VIA, Etron technology and Fresco logic - here are the names of some developers of USB 3.0 controllers, which are attempted to compete with NEC. NEC company is ready to answer the price aggression of competitors by reduction in the prices of USB 3.0 controllers in the fourth quarter this year. In the beginning of following year NEC will present USB 3.0 new generation controllers, which will cost not more than $2 per piece. Many USB 3.0 controllers competitors thus did not pass certification; therefore, their expansion on the market will start not earlier than the end of this year or beginning of the following. At this moment NEC will lower prices of its production in order to hold the occupied market share. | ||
