Swiftech company presented the hybrid solutions for cooling video card GeForce GTX 470 and GTX 480. Development is the combination of water-block MCW80 and aluminum radiator, which wholly covers the printed-circuit board. According to the intention of producer, the isolation of graphic processor in separate zone will avoid heat exchange between GPU and other card sections , such as memory microcircuit and voltage regulators.
While graphic processor will be cooled with the aid of water, the task of heat removal from remaining hot points is entrusted to the radiator. When desired, it is possible to add 80- mm fan for the blowout. According to the company, this construction is more effective than full-scale water-block.
