The long-awaited processors with bobcat architecture must allow AMD to strengthen their positions in the segment of mobile computers with the low energy consumption level, and the integrated graphic core will become strong competitive advantage. Does this indicate that AMD company will move in the segment of smart phone ? We already know about AMD plans to place processors with bobcat architecture in servers, where they can compete with ARM- architecture processors. However, according to AMD chapter , in the near future the company does not intend to compete with ARM and its partners in the segment of processors for mobile devices. AMD completely arranges its own presence in the segment of processors for personal computers and servers. After ATI acquisition it even got rid of non-specialized active memberships, occupied by chips development for cell phones. In the segment of processors for computers , AMD has not many competitors, and the profit rate completely arranges the company. If there was no financial participation in globalfoundries activity , AMD company would already begin to earn money. The market for processors with ARM- architecture is much more saturated by competitors. This does not mean that AMD places a cross on the release of processors, capable of competing with ARM- clones. | ||
