The four core processors orochi appeared in AMD road map during November 2008. Then it was considered that they will occupy in 2011 place in the upper part of desktop segment, and will be released on 32 nm technologies. After some time AMD changed its plans and this position engaged the 8 core processors zambezi, built on bulldozer architecture.
Here is the processor with bulldozer architecture : eight core and divided caches in the third level.
The photograph show that orochi processor will consist of four dual core blocks, the divided cache in the second level is isolated in each block. Most likely, orochi processors will become the server analog Of zambezi, or AMD sequential time replaced the arbitrary symbol of the latter. Let us recall that socket AM3+ processors cannot work in socket AM3 motherboards, but here server processors with bulldozer architecture can be installed in the motherboard, utilized by server platforms of present generation (Socket g34 and Socket c32).
