While Intel is assembled to make revolution with the standard mini-ITX, company VIA already prepares for release the system card of form factor pico-ITX. This standard implies the smaller overall sizes - 100 x 72 mm against 170 x 170 mm for Mini-ITX.
The first motherboard in this series, was called : Epia PX, are built on the base of processor VIA C7, working at 1 GHz frequency and not requiring active cooling. As chipset will be used BY CX700M or VX700. Both include the functions of north and south bridges in one microcircuit, they have the integrated graphic core VIA uniChrome pro II, controller DDR- and DDR2 memory.
CX700M support HDTV includes integrated audio controler VIA vinyl HD audio, while VX700 has larger quantity of interfaces and ports USB. It is not clear, witch will be selected BY VIA for Epia PX chipsets, or maybe it will release the two modifications of motherboard.
Epia PX is oriented to the market consumer and its media pc application , and also for designers. Although is not excluded that such system can be useful in the industrial built in applications.
About the price the producer does not report anythings. According to the preliminary forecasts it will be approximately 250 dollars. Related Products :
