We see how motherboards producers are divided in two camps: some ensure the support of socket AM3+ processors by the release of new motherboard revisions with the appropriate socket type, others ensure the support of new processors in motherboards with socket AM3 after simple Bios update.
In the beginning of past month on the exhibition ceBIT 2011 MSI company confessed the first method of assuring compatibility with the processors socket AM3+, which implies the installation of new processor socket to the old motherboards . Now official press release says, that MSI guarantees the support of socket AM3+ processors with socket AM3 motherboards after Bios update. The micro-code is already adapted for three motherboards models. Complete list will appear thus:

- 890GXM-G65 (AMD 890GX);
- 880GMA-E55 (AMD 880G);
- 880GMA-E45 (AMD 880G);

- 870A-G54 (AMD 870);

- 760GM-E51 (AMD 760G);
- 760GM-P33 (AMD 760G).
