In early May, Intel announced that it was going to master the production of processors on 10nm technology in 2015. Intel will be ready to release 14 nm production and will eventually switch to the production of processors on 10 nm and 7 nm technology.
Assocaite published an excerpt from Intel server road map. The supply of desktop 32 nm processors Sandy Bridge are made at the end of last year, and their server counterparts will be available only in 2011-2012. We also know that desktop 22 nm processors with a new architecture Haswell will be released in 2013, and in the server segment their debut will take place no earlier than the second quarter 2014.
Thus, under the previous generation processors architecture Rockwell will make the transition to 14 nm production technology. The next two processors generations, Skylake Skymont, will be released on 14 nm and 10 nm technology, respectively. In the server segment Skylake will appear in late 2016, about a year later will appear the first 10 nm processors Skymont.
