Manufacturers of motherboards based on chipsets Intel sixth series unanimously declared the possibility of support for future 22 nm processors Intel Ivy Bridge in LGA 1155. Assocaite reported that even from hardware side the existing platform is able to work with the new chips, but the new version of UEFI can create insurmountable obstacles, which is why most existing motherboards will not be able to work with Ivy Bridge.
According to assicaute , to modify the UEFI on current motherboards Intel will require a complete erasure of memory Flash ROM, which is possible only in the factory. It is not clear whether this refers only to motherboard or Intel applies to all decisions with LGA 1155.
