Judge of Commission on International Trade in the U.S. (ITC) yesterday issued a preliminary decision in HTC against Apple. In his opinion, Apple did not violate four patents owned by HTC.
According to the General Counsel, HTC, a decision on the preliminary hearing should not be taken as final.
This is just one step of many legal proceedings. We are confident that we have good grounds for appeal ITC and we are fully prepared to defend our intellectual property .
The complaint was filed in May 2010. HTC accused Apple of patent infringement and asked ITC to prohibit the import in U.S. of device Apple iPod, iPhone and the iPad.
The final decision will take place in February. It may support and reject the preliminary judge decision .
Another accusation against Apple was filed in HTS ITC in early September , together with the corresponding action in the District Court of Delaware.
