ARM company introduced the graphics processor ARM Mali-T658, additions to the GPU architecture Midgard. New product designed for high-performance devices, including smart phones, tablets and smart-TV. According to the developer, the superiority of Mali-T658 in graphics performance over a widely used now GPU Mali-400 MP is up to ten times. Among the new applications, the manufacturer calls a computational photograph, image processing and augmented reality. Mali-T658 is scaled up to eight cores, and the number of pipelines of arithmetic operations within each of them doubled compared with the previous model. The company notes the compatibility of the new GPU architecture ARMv8. Mali-T658 supports API Microsoft DirectX 11, Khronos OpenGL ES, OpenVG, Khronos OpenCL, Google Renderscript and Microsoft DirectCompute. | ||
