In the near future, the British developer of processors can become a serious competitor to Intel in the market for mobile computers.
Intel now pay special attention to power consumption of processors being developed, while ARM engineers try to achieve performance chips that are already proven to be energy efficient solutions.
It is unlikely that ARM in the next two years will be able to catch up with Intel in CPU performance. But even in its present form chips with ARM architecture is preferable to look for certain kinds of tasks, and Intel may begin to lose ground in the notebook market in 2013, approximately six months after the release of Windows 8.
