Gigabyte company presented the technology of passive cooling silent-Pipe II already in 2005. Video card witch used such system visually differed from other passively cooled graphic card;
This cooling for video card was many criticized ; however, this did not interfere with Gigabyte using silent-Pipe II for creating the cooling systems of video card series geForce 6600, GeForce 7600, Radeon x1550, Radeon x1600 and Radeon x1650. On exhibition ceBIT 2007 gigabyte company demonstrated the models of passive cooling systems silent-Pipe III, which indicates intentions of this producer to develop this concept.  Obviously, heat- from the video chip is now desipped by large radiator - this allow to increase the cooling areasurface . Part of thermal energy from this radiator will go on two thermal tubes to the small radiator.  The Visual impression of Silent-Pipe III is better than its predecessors. But this cooler is noted only for low power video card as geForce 7600.  Most likely, even this new version silent-Pipe is not able to cool hot video cards , without additional fans.
