Curator of the project, Nicholas Negroponte , in an interview , said the delay in the release of XO-3 is due to the need to find a strong enough case material for the tablet. According to him, XO-3 will be available to customers no sooner than mid-February. In addition, Mr. Negroponte admitted that the netbook XO 1.75 and XO-3 tablet will coexist for some time, since the touch screen with virtual keyboard has to be improved before it can compete on convenience of input with the keyboard of traditional netbook. XO-3 will be built on the processor Marvell ARMADA PXA618. The operating system will use Android and Linux. Bulk deliveries to customers of XO 1.75 will begin in March this year, children in Uruguay and Nicaragua have already received 75 000 student netbooks of this model. Tablet XO-3 will be completed by Avastar to work in Wi-Fi networks, some version will be equipped with Pixel Qi screen, which allows comfortable reading of information under the direct sun ray . The tablet can be recharged by solar panels, mechanical generator of electricity or other sources. Perhaps, at CES 2012 we still see examples of this curious device. | ||
