It was assumed that the announcement of student tablet XO-3 which cost $ 100 will take place no earlier than mid-February, but OLPC demonstrated only the samples of device at CES 2012.
The serial version of XO-3 is far from the appearance of conceptual designs. It's pretty thick (compared to most commercial tablet) computer with eight-inch touch screen that supports 1024 x 768 pixels. The tablet has a rubberized case and rubber cover , which is advanced version can be equipped with solar cells with an extra battery.
The tablet is built on Marvell Armada PXA618 chip, equipped with 512 MB RAM and SSD 4 GB. The operating system can use a special version of Linux or Android. There is USB, micro-USB, microphone and headphone . Additionally XO-3 can be equipped with a mechanical electricity generator.
In the basic version XO-3 will be equipped with Pixel Qi display, to replace conventional liquid crystal display. Related Products :
