Among other things, in the third quarter, ASUS plans to release a tablet with Windows 8. Another category of devices, which focuses on the Taiwanese manufacturer are ultrabook: ASUS laptops are integrated in the series Zenbook and currently occupy 10% of the total laptops set. By the end of the year ASUS expects to increase this figure to 10-20%.
In the first quarter 2012, ASUS was able to earn $ 3.08 billion. Gross margin was 13.9%, net operating income reached $ 161 million, net income - $ 171.3 million, for each share will be paid about $ 0.28.
Note that in 2012 ASUS also plans to ship about 24 million motherboards, 18 million notebooks (including ultrabooks), 4 million Eee PC netbooks and 3 million tablets.
