In February, Intel introduced the processor Atom, designed for use in smartphones. The processor giant has outlined the work in two directions: the first involves production of high-performance solutions, while the second is characterized by the creation of low cost processors. The current generation of processor models represented Atom Z2580 and Atom Z2000, respectively.
Assocaite published a roadmap, which contains a reference to the successors of mentioned chips, which will be made on 22 technologies. For preparing solutions of productive processor segment , code-named Merrifield, which will be based on a new micro-architecture and will have a built-in cellular modem Intel XMM 7260. The entry-level smartphone offers a product which appears under the designation 6331.
The release of these processors for smartphones is scheduled for 2013. After one year, Intel expects to master the production of processors for smartphones on 14 nm technology. Related Products :
