AMD plans to release 65 nm versions of dual core mobile processors turion 64 X2 socket S1. First, passage on 65 nm technical process will become logical step to production . the processors turion 64 X2 will reach new frequency , which with simultaneous prices reduction will allow them to successfully compete with Intel mobile platform .
AMD company will propose soon:
- Turion 64 X2 TL -66 (2.3 GHz) - > 2 x 512 KB cache, 65 nm core, TDP=35 W, support dual-channel memory type DDR 2-800;
- Turion 64 X2 TL -64 (2.2 GHz) - > 2 x 512 KB cache, 65 nm core, TDP=35 W, support dual-channel memory type DDR 2-800;
- Turion 64 X2 TL -60 (2.0 GHz) - > 2 x 512 KB cache, 65 nm core, TDP=31 W, support dual-channel memory type DDR 2-800;
- Turion 64 X2 TL -58 (1.9 GHz) - > 2 x 512 KB cache, 65 nm core, TDP=31 W, support dual-channel memory type DDR 2-800;
- Turion 64 X2 TL -56 (1.8 GHz) - > 2 x 512 KB cache, 65 nm core, TDP=31 W, support dual-channel memory type DDR 2-800.
We note that the memory controller on 65 nm versions turion 64 X2 was calculated for DDR 2-800 support , while 90 nm predecessors were limited to DDR 2-667 support . For the popularization of its mobile platform , AMD is going to propose for notebook producers the complete sets with processors and chipsets on special price. This became possible after purchasing ATI company , now AMD can strengthen its mobile platform positions , after getting rid from dependence on chipsets producers . Related Products :
