Just last week we learned that on 14 May in Intel Price-list appeared new Xeon processors in three series, targeted at different market segments.
In total, Intel today released 28 new models Xeon, which are distributed among Xeon E5-4600 (eight pieces), Xeon E5-2400 (nine items) and Xeon E3-1200 v2 (eleven pieces).
Series processors Xeon E5-4600 have a design concept LGA 2011 and released on 32 nm technology. In one system can be up to four such processors simultaneously. Number of cores per processor can reach eight pieces, and they support Hyper-Threading technology. The maximum cache size is 20MB, the TDP value not exceeding 130 W, and the default frequency range from 2.0 to 2.9 GHz. Processors in this series are also distinguished by the speed of the QPI bus , which can reach 8 Ghz per second.
The series Xeon E5-2400 processors is based on LGA 1536, manufactured on 32 nm technology. They have four to eight cores, equipped with a cache of up to 20 MB. TDP value not exceeding 95 W, QPI bus runs at up to 8 Ghz per second. The frequency range from 1.8 to 2.4 GHz. In one system can work simultaneously to two processors in this series.
Finally, the series E3-1200 v2 is composed of Ivy Bridge generation processors in LGA 1155, produced on 22 nm technology. Junior series processor named E3-1220Lv2 content with two cores, 2.3 GHz frequency and TDP level not more than 17 w . It is intended for use in so-called microserver. Other processors have four cores and 8MB cache, and their frequency can reach 3.7 GHz, but at the TDP level will be not more than 87 w .Note that E3-1290v2 with a similar frequency is the fastest processor in LGA 1155.
