The warranty periods for hard drives is fickle as the stock indexes. Manufacturers are guided by the market situation, and often revise warranty period upward and downward. The revision of guarantee terms implies a major player in terms of immediate changes in guarantee support for the competition. Now, when the largest manufacturers of hard drives are only two (WD and Seagate), such changes can have a significant impact on consumers.
Just six months ago, Seagate reduced the warranty period for many hard drives models, but with 30 June new warranty terms start to operate:
- Constellation 2 and ES.2 -> 5 years;
- Barracuda and Barracuda Green 3.5 -> 2 years;
- Barracuda XT -> 3 years;
- Momentus 2.5 (5400 and 7200 r / min) -> 2 years;
- Momentus XT -> 3 years;
- SV35 Series video surveillance -> 3 years;
- Pipeline HD Mini, Pipeline HD -> 3 years.
In other words, the hard drives Barracuda and Momentus warranty period has been increased from one to two years, drives for video surveillance systems are supplied with a three-year warranty, product Constellation - five years. New terms and conditions apply to all hard drives Seagate, shipped after June 30, 2012. Related Products :
