Associate has published an interview with Sasa Marinkovic, AMD Technical Marketing director.
First, Marinkovic emphasized several times that AMD only offers quad-core processors that can be used in ultrathin notebooks. Core i7 processors with four cores are not suitable solutions for ultrabooks because their TDP level exceeds 17 w. Partnership with AMD in the development of ultrathin laptop does not impose on mobile computers manufacturers limits - neither on the size of the screen, nor on the type and amount of storage used, nor on the processor model.
Finally, AMD representatives explained that the hybrid processor by accelerating some of calculations using the graphics system reduces the power consumption of laptop in a number of tasks, helping to save battery power.
