It is known that the thermal characteristics of 90 NM  processors was recently improved, this process will continue until the complete migration on 65 NM technical process . Using F3 stepping  , AMD company was able to reduce the TDP level of dual core 90 NM processor athlon 64 X2 5000+ (2.6 GHz) to 65 W. In sale such processor appeared in the beginning of March, and it did not differ in price from its hotter analog. Now, when the prices of Athlon 64 X2 reached a historical minimum, it makes sense to look at the economical version athlon 64 X2 5200+ (2.6 GHz) with TDP level  not more than 65 W. This processor has 2 X 1 mb cache in the second level . The economical version athlon 64 X2 5200+ appeared this week in Japan , although there are no references about it in the official Price- list . To determine the belonging of processor to the class energy efficient is possible in the upper right-corner of the processor box. There are no doubts - before us the energy efficient processor, its TDP level does not exceed 65 W. Processor has marking ADO5200IAA6CZ, it belong to F3 stepping . In this version the core supply voltage is set to 1.2-1.25 v against 1.3-1.35 v in regular version athlon 64 X2 5200+. The temperature range was increased to 55 - 72 degree Celsius instead of the previous 55-70 degree Celsius. Official wholesale cost of this processor is $178, in Japan such cpu is sold on price from $183.
