According to official press release , AMD has recruited the leading experts on micro architectures and technologies for parallel computing - John Gustafson.  Especially fans of AMD will enjoy the fact that yesterday, John went to work in Intel company , where he served as head of research center eXtreme Technologies Lab.  As part of Intel  department Gustafson was developing energy-efficient computing, memory, optical data transmission technologies, storage systems, and many other promising areas. In AMD Gustafson was appointed chief architect of the company's products and the head of graphic business.  He will also be responsible for the relevant business processes and develop a strategy for development of the company, in particular - engage in the development of APU and FirePro adapters.  Choice for directorship of graphics architecture specialist parallelism is not accidental. AMD company , like its competitors, is very interested in entering the market for GPGPU-computing, where NVIDIA is leading the company with its products range Tesla, while the new architecture, AMD chief behind 35 years of experience in creating technologies and architectures parallelization.
