ASMedia Technology was visited by representatives of  competent authorities.  The company is suspected of violating intellectual property of Controllers USB 3.0.   ASMedia company , like VIA, is a major  USB 3.0 controllers manufacturer in Taiwan.  It supplies bridges with USB 3.0 for External drive manufacturers such as Seagate and Toshiba.  Controller manufacturers now focus on periphery, as integrated USB 3.0 controller chip sets make unnecessary production of discrete controllers, and the demand for compatible peripherals, on the contrary, will increase.  Someone might be tempted to slow down a competitor with long proven method - accusing him of violating intellectual property rights.
