In late November, PQI company representatives said that in the next three years will actively reduce memory volumes, and then completely stop engaging in the production of DRAM. Even the major manufacturers such as Elpida Memory can face economic difficulties, the smaller players have less chance to continue working in this market niche.
PQI representatives are now determined to minimize release of memory modules in 2013. Wireless storage devices and accessories for Apple devices have become one of the areas where PQI redirect resources. Now up to 85% of the company revenue are from the sale of data storage devices, but this percentage will decrease in 2013 to 70%, and will continue to fall in the future.
PQI will work in the market of drives equipped with USB 3.0 interface. By the end of 2013, their share in the total mass reaches 70%.
