Bank of America Merrill Lynch reported that by the end of 2014 on tablet devices will account for the majority of all personal computers .So, in two years the share of tablets will be 39% of total sales of computers, while the figure for notebooks will be equal to 35%, while desktop PC will retain only 26%.
According to the bank's forecasts, in 2012, 2013 and 2014 will be shipped 117 million, 176 million and 217 million tablets, respectively. Previously, Merrill Lynch experts talk about the prospects of devices of this type less optimistic forecast volumes were 100 million, 137 million and 177 million, respectively.
IDC analysts , expects that by 2016, tablet shipments will reach 282.7 million units. In addition, according to the experts, in 2012 the share of tablets running Android will grow to 42.7% (39.8% last year), and Apple products , in contrast, slightly behind the competition by entering this year 53.8% (56.3% previously).
