Hong Kong company Galaxy, better known for its graphics cards from NVIDIA, started selling in the home market a new SSD-drive line Laser Series 80 GB.
80-GB solid-state drive support SATA 6 Gb / s interface, based on controller LSI SandForce SF-2281 and MLC NAND flash memory. Also declared TRIM support, 128 - and 256-bit encryption AES. As for high-speed performance, the maximum supported by the figures are up to 550 MB / s when reading and 510 MB / s write. The average capacity will be 405 MB / s and 160 MB / s, respectively.
The cost of 80 GB SSD-drive Galaxy Laser Series will be only about $ 72 (less than 1 dollar per GB).
