Following the production of protected hard drive series EE25.2 , seagate presented the update version of its high performance HDD with SCSI interface , Cheetah NS. This new hard disk is slower than cheetah 15K.5 ( high end series ) , its rotation speed is only 10000 rp./min, but not 15 thousand. Reduction in the speed characteristics allowed Seagate to increase the hard disk volume . If the maximum volume in cheetah 15K.5, based on four plates, is 300 Gb, then in Cheetah NS this index is equal to 400 Gb. In addition Cheetah NS has reduced energy consumption in comparison with cheetah 15K.5 . Comparing this new products with analogous in speed (10000 RPM ) hard disks, Seagate indicates that Cheetah NS is 21% faster. The search time composes only 3,9 ms, and sequential reading is accomplished at 97 mb./s  . in Cheetah 10K.7 the first index higher by 0,7 ms, and the second is lower by 17 mb./s.
