Modern smartphones often support NFC technology, which allows you not to only communicate with other similar devices, but also implement a mobile wallet for quick and secure payment services using a smartphone. However, the spread of such solutions is still limited because of their widespread use is required and the appropriate software infrastructure.
Apple will implement the mobile wallet in their devices not earlier than the first half of next year, when iPhone 6 will be released. Perhaps the technology will be based on standard NFC. Current versions of iOS, NFC is not supported, but Apple has managed to implement a Passbook function, which allows users to store tickets and coupons in electronic form. Operating system Android, BlackBerry 10 and Windows Phone 8 provide support for NFC right now.
Apple has one of the largest armies customers whose accounts are tied to credit cards. The number of iTunes users in the last year reached 500 million, an increase of 60% in just one year. For comparison, PayPal has 120 million customers, audience growth for the last year of this payment system is limited to 15%.
