Already on 19 April will be available to customers samples chipsets, eighth series stepping C2, which will retain compatibility with the motherboard layout built using chipset stepping C1.
Intel sparingly reports that the new chipset revision will have a larger number of metal layers, and the replacement chip is not required to conduct a full-scale motherboards test. Deliveries of the new chipsets in mass quantities will begin on 15 July this year, customers will receive in parallel for some time and chipset stepping C1. After 31 July will be delivered only chipset stepping C2.
The transition to a new stepping is scheduled for desktop chipset Intel Q87, Q85, H87, Z87, B85, as well as mobile Intel QM87, HM87 and HM86. There will be also transferred to the C2 stepping chipsets for desktops and servers: Intel C222, C224 and C226.
The announcement of chipsets Intel eighth series is scheduled for the current month . The processors Haswell generation will go on sale on 2 June. Related Products :
