Intel is able to make good processors, but repeatedly made mistakes in their associated chipsets. Last one was defect in the chipsets' sixth series that affect SATA device activity . Because of this, Intel had to suspend their delivery and to withdraw products that does not meet the quality . Later came to light X79 solutions , due to some problem it was deprived of SAS port support.
As it turned out, problem with USB 3.0 test not only chipsets for Haswell processors, but solutions used in the tablets Surface Pro. One user said that the device is not able to correctly recognize the drive with an interface USB 3.0 (error USB device not recognized or "Intel (r) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver isn't compatible with Windows 8).
Microsoft Support acknowledges there is a problem, but did not say when the defect is corrected, and whether this will happen at all.
