After many overclock try we found that the overclocking potential of single core processors celeron 4xx (Conroe- L) stepping A1 in the majority of cases is limited by the system bus frequency of approximately 400 MHz. Intel will periodically release faster models. Their higher multiplier will allow to compensate overclock limitations on the system bus. Let us pass to the overclock of dual core processors series Pentium e2xxx. They are based on the stepping L2 core allendale; According to our statistics , The best copies overclock to 400 MHz on the system bus, which corresponds to total frequency on the order of 3.2-3.6 GHz. Average and modest results are with system bus 350 MHz. Today in XtremeSystem there was an overclock examples of processors Pentium e2160 (1.8 GHz) to 457 MHz in the system bus. This corresponds to the total frequency 4109 MHz or increase in the frequency by 128%. At this frequency the processor executed the test super PI 1M. Dry ice was used as processor cooling . In addition there was another impressive result with system bus frequency 474 MHz. The Processor operated at frequency 4267 MHz and in this case it was cooled by two-stage cascade . Increase in frequency composes 137%. Let us note that similar results are accessible with extreme cooling  and as mainboard usually we find products on base of chipset intel p35. Let us note , that on 26 August , will appear the model Pentium e2180 (2.0 GHz), which possesses the 10x multiplier and wholesale price $84. This processor will improve the overclocking potential of such processor. For just over $100, this autumn , it will be possible to purchase dual core processor core 2 Duo e4600 (2.4 GHz) with 12x multiplier , based on stepping M0. thank u very much for sharing this great information! :-) (i think many ppl read your reportings but are to lazy to comment because they feel they cant add anything useful)   two things i wonder though... what kind of overclocking potential could be expected with the standard included intel cooler? ...and also i wonder if the memorybus (including the ram-modules) r overclocked in the e2160 review?   thanks again for your great infos and best wishes as well... / ninjasource

HI there; Thanks for those great world. We are really working hard to provide our best to the community. As u already know the PENTIUM E2XXX major problem is the fsb wall. Most copy (tested by us by other) do not got above 400 mhz FSB (410 -420 in some case). As average , most people are getting somewhere between 350-400. so with the 9x multiplier you should expect an overclock between 3150 mhz- 3600 mhz . For the memory since the FSB wall always happen before the 400 MHZ , for the 1:1 regime any DDR2 PC6400 will do the job fine . Hope This help XTreview Support Team Keep it Clear :-)
