We already talked about the overclocking potential of processors core 2 Duo e6750 (2.66 GHz) in the new series with 1333 MHz system bus ( on base of G0 stepping ) . Yesterday we reported some changes in intel Price- list . Today took place the announcement of new intel processors  -  the four core processor core 2 Extreme QX6850 (3.0 GHz) with 1333 MHz system bus. Let us recall that this is the only model kentsfield with 1333 MHz system bus. We should recall that motherboard on base of chipsets NVIDIA series nForce 6xxi support 1333 MHz (system bus) processors after BIOS update , the motherboard on base of chipset intel p35 support it , and even on the majority of motherboard on base of chipset intel p965 will  work without special problems. The processors announced today are familiar to us, their fundamental characteristics and wholesale prices are indicated in the table: Intel also announced the mobile processor core 2 Extreme x7800 (2.6 GHz), which possesses free multiplier and TDP level on the order of 44 W. Its deliveries on OEM channels already began, wholesale price was equal to $851. In a week , intel will lower the prices of some desktop processors. We should note that the processor core 2 Extreme QX6850 (3.0 GHz) due to the use of G0 stepping  proves to be more economical in comparison with Core 2 Extreme QX6800 (2.93 GHz) B3 stepping . With the activation of EIST technology , the processor multiplier is reduced to 6x, and it quietly operates at 2.0 GHz frequency . Talking about the overclock statistics of core 2 Extreme QX6850 (3.0 GHz) , even with the default voltage and stock air cooler this processor should in most case overclock to 3.4-3.5 GHz,  increase in voltage and passage to better cooler rise this frequency to 3.7-3.8 GHz. , phase change overclock the processor to 4.4-4.8 GHz , and under liquid nitrogen it easily reach the 5.0 GHz frequency  . Similar results can be achieved, also, with low-end processors series core 2 Quad, which will be available from the following Monday from $266. Related Products :
