The desire to make ultrabooks forced Intel company to strengthen the graphical component of the processor - integrated graphics core. Since the generation Haswell, performance of embedded videos has doubled. However, this is true, if you compare the old core and Iris Graphics 5100, which are armed with enough productive model. This class includes integrated video core Intel GT3 with 40 execution units, but without using a separate chip eDRAM. The consumption of such processors is almost twice as much (TDP 28W) than the consumption of graphics solutions Iris Graphics 5000 (TDP 15 W). The latter also rely on execution units 40 GT3, which frequency is lower than 28 W processor.  The characteristics of models Core i5-4258U, Core i5-4288U and Core i7-4558U are above.
