The existence of products of different generations often makes sense because some consumers do not mind to give up advanced features for a more reasonable price.   In the next year, Sony may release an updated version of the PlayStation 3, which will have a more compact body, and use issued by a perfect process technology components.  In particular, the NVIDIA RSX graphics processor will move to 28-nanometer production technology, and the central Cell processor will be released on 22-nanometer technology.
