Last week Asustek Computer company has reported on the results of the second quarter this year. The main financial indicators - the consolidated revenue, net operating income and net income - for the period decreased relative to the first quarter 2013 and second quarter 2012. The reason for this is mainly served as a reduction in the supply of laptops and tablets.
According to the report, laptops and hybrid devices ("Transformers") brought Asustek 60% of revenue in the second quarter, the share of traditional tablets accounted for 14%, about the same provided the sale of graphics cards and motherboards, the share of the remaining goods in total amounted to 12%. Most products Asustek was able to realize in the Asia-Pacific region (48% of sales), followed by Europe (29%) and North America (23%). Revenues for the second quarter was $ 3 billion.
Due to the weak demand Asustek had to adjust the forecast for 2013 in respect of laptops and hybrids sales: instead of 24 million devices the company expects to realize 17-19 million.
