Asus company finally released the new compact notebook with the developed functionality. Already during September this year , the company will start the sale of notebook series eee PC 701, which will cost from $199 to $369 depending on assembly and region . Let us note that during September will be dispatched approximately 20 000 notebook   which will fall on USA , Taiwan, China and Europe, markets moreover the substantial part will be sold for $349. Eee PC 701 is a compact notebook in the plastic case with screen diagonal 7 inch (800x480), based on the mobile chipset and intel processor (integrated chipset i910 and processor Pentium M on 90 nm core dothan). It is equipped with 512 mb DDR 2-400 memory and with solid-state disk with from 2 to 16 Gb volume  .  As network interfaces are provided a port 10/100 Mbit/s and wireless interface wiFi (802.11b/g), and also the good old 56k modem. A device for reading card types MMC/SD will allow to process photographs or to listen to music, and the built-in 0.3-MP camera will allow the most advanced video conferences. Battery must be sufficient for 3- 4 hours of work, but the cheapest notebook models will have the modest storage battery. With the overall dimensions 225 X 165 X 21 (35) mm this notebook weigh is only 800-900 deg. BY default the operating system Linux is installed, but Asus guarantees compatibility with the operating systems Windows. Related Products :
