German scientists have developed an application that will turn your smartphone into SOS-lighthouse during disasters.
According to the newspaper, a team of scientists from the Institute of the German Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology (Fraunhofer FIT) headed by engineer Amro Al-Akkad (Amro Al-Akkad) developed a system that might save thousands of lives during disasters and emergency situations of natural and technogenic character. They offer to write in the name of Wi-Fi point , open on your phone, call for help. Moreover, the victim will be able to send a radio signal without access to the Internet and connect to a cellular network.
It is reported that a group of scientists together with the rescuers have developed two applications - for a lifeguard and a potential victim. The program allows the victim to send a message, a call for help is no longer than 27 characters, and the application for rescuers to send signals to notify. The program is able to detect the signal up to 100 meters.
Scientists present their design at the April conference in Toronto, which will focus on human-computer interaction. They expect that the application will soon be installed on all mobile devices on iOS and Android.
