At the last international exhibition Mobile World Congress 2014, many eminent manufacturers presented their 64-bit mobile processors. Among them are giants such as Intel, Marvell, MediaTek and Qualcomm. However, the first Android-powered devices on 64-bit platforms will be released in the second half of this year after the release of the new OS Android.
According to analysts ABI Research, this year will be released at least 182 million of 64-bit processors. And only 20% of them will be installed in mobile devices on Android, and 80% will fall to the share of Apple. By 2018, the supply of single-chip platforms with 64-bit architecture to increase to 1.12 billion copies and they will own approximately 55% of the global market for mobile processors. Moreover, 60% of 64-bit processors will be installed on Android-powered devices, 30% - on Apple gadgets . And the share of smartphones Windows Phone will have less than 9%.
