At the Game Developers Conference (GDC), Intel talked a lot about its loyalty to the desktop segment of the PC market and the desire to please the most demanding enthusiasts as well as those who are interested in compact systems. To demonstrate the capabilities of its graphics processing solutions, Intel decided to take advantage of the announcement interface OpenGL ES 3.1. This API is designed specifically for embedded systems, which are included among the smartphones and tablet devices, but OpenGL ES based on the original OpenGL. According to Intel, at GDC it showed more new API, than anyone else.
In particular, the public could observe implemented using OpenGL ES 3.1 cloth simulation, HDR Bloom, deferred lighting with anti-aliasing and tessellation. Incidentally, tessellation is not a formal part of OpenGL ES 3.1 and reproduced using special extensions created by Intel.
Support for OpenGL ES 3.1 will have Tablet based processors Bay Trail, they will not appear until next month.
