At the end of August AMD company announced the processor - Athlon 64 X2 6400+ Black edition. It had two core with 2 X 1 mb cache in the second level, and it operated at 3.2 GHz frequency  . It occurs that , Athlon 64 X2 6400+ (3.2 GHz) was not the last processor in Black edition series . Today was announced the processor athlon 64 X2 5000+ Black edition, which with 2.6 GHz frequency and 2 X 512 KB cache in the second level possess a free multiplier. In official AMD Price- list this processor already appeared, and in Internet- stores it is possible to meet it under the marking ADO5000DSWOF. This socket AM2 processor has a TDP level not more than 65 W, it is based on 65 nm core, and it is supplied in box version without cooler. Focus attention, that Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Black edition has higher price in comparison with  processors having analogous characteristics - $136 against $125 . This additional payment is for the free multiplier.  Earlier for the free multiplier AMD supporters had to pay imposing price, if we do not consider the old models athlon 64 FX, officially taken out from production, but still available in retail. Let us note that AMD explicitly does not indicate the technical process utilized for the production of this processor. The model athlon 64 X2 5000+ (2.6 GHz) can have TDP not more than 65 W in two case - on base of 65 nm core and on base of 90 nm core. Related Products :
